Grow Succeed

Resilient living is having the knowledge and skills to SUCCEED
in achieving all of your goals.

To succeed in life is to experience joy, accomplishment, reward, satisfaction and recognition. But in order to succeed in life, one must first be able to cope with and overcome the inevitable experience of failure, doubt, change, fear, and disappointment. Learning and applying various resilience-building skills, like self-efficacy, goal setting, and a growth mindset can increase motivation and persistence, providing an excellent foundation for success.

Want to achieve excellence and become a success?

  1. The key to achieving success in your academic, professional and personal life is failure! As Micheal Jordan once said “I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

  2. Success is about striving for excellence, not perfection. Believe it or not, our brains are set up specifically to learn from our mistakes. In fact, our brains develop the fastest when we make mistakes. So, in order to excel in some aspect of your life, you must develop that area of your brain by taking risks, learning new things, and allowing yourself to make mistakes during that process.

  3. Success grows from our willingness and ability to learn a new skill and put in relentless effort and persistence to conquering that skill. Relentless effort and persistence are necessary for success to help you persevere and overcome the adversity you will face. In the words of Rocky Balboa, “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!”
